BRIEF SUMMARYThe Resource Specialist Program/Inclusion Specialist teacher is a credentialed professional with specialized knowledge regarding the current principle, techniques and instrumentation used in meeting the needs of students identified as meeting the criteria for special education through a psychoeducational evaluation and IEP determination. The RSP/IS teacher provides direct, individual or small group instruction to identified pupils on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the approved IEP. The RSP/IS works part of the time directly with identified students and supervises other personnel working the same students.QUALIFICATIONS Possession of valid California Special Education Credential. Knowledge and experience in using appropriate assessments, both formal and informal, to be used in determining current levels of performance. Knowledge of theories of child development in psychomotor, social, cognitive, communication, vocational and self-help areas. Knowledge of methods and techniques in educating children (including normal and exceptional child development). Knowledge of technology available for students with disabilities including adaptive equipment and materials. Knowledge of federal and state mandates for students identified as special education students. Knowledge of the IEP development and timelines. Ability to communicate with staff, parents and other personnel involved with a special education student's IEP. Ability to train and supervise paraprofessional working with disabled students. Knowledge and experience with teaching disabled students to read using a variety of methods and techniques. Knowledge of processing disorders effecting students' learning, and experience in teaching techniques using various sensory modalities. Knowledge and experience in using behavior management techniques. Knowledge and experience in recommending various accommodations and modifications to the general education classroom teacher in order for a disabled or non-disabled student to be access the curriculum. Skill to provide disability awareness to general education students and staff. Skill in facilitating relationships between disabled and non-disabled peers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate students suspected of having a disability using appropriate formal and informal assessments. Collaborate and consult with general education staff on modifications to implement for general education students experiencing learning difficulties. Instruct disabled students in area of identified weakness, and in accordance with IEP goals and objectives. Coordinate and attend IEP meetings with parents, school staff, and other professionals involved in students IEP's. Develop and implement IEP complying with timelines. Train and monitor paraprofessional. Provide inservice to staff regarding disabilities and least restrictive environment. Attend monthly special education staff meetings and site-based meetings as required by site principal. Collaborate and consult regularly with other professionals on students' progress. Instruct disabled students in reading, math, and written language using structured, sequential methods and materials that are multi-sensory. Develop a schedule for providing instruction to identified students in collaboration with general education teachers. Attend parent-teacher conferences. Provide parents with updates on benchmarks as often as progress reports are given for non-disabled students. Performs other activities required or assigned by the site administrator or Coordinator of Special Education.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
