About the role:

The Sr. Content Specialist will be responsible for planning, resourcing, writing and/or editing, and managing integrated campaign content programs that effectively communicate a unified overall narrative, attract audiences into our marketing funnel, and drive brand awareness. You are experienced with and passionate about audience-focused content and have top-notch editing, storytelling, and creative content strategy skills. You understand the difference between a company s positioning, campaign messages and content themes, topics, angles, and the formats and channels most appropriate for each stage of the audience buying cycle. In addition, you are organized and adept at defining and leading content processes and schedules, outlining and following editorial style guidelines, managing an editorial calendar, and meeting deadlines.

Joining RingCentral s content marketing team, you will work with internal marketing stakeholders across the organization as well as external content resources to conceive campaign plans, define campaign content strategies, and edit and project-manage an integrated set of assets. Our ideal candidate has an editorial or journalism background; can edit and rewrite effectively; and can lead a content process and workflow that requires input and review from multiple parties. You also have a keen interest in or experience with communication and collaboration solutions and B2B technology audience needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, edit and manage from conception to completion all campaign content assets, including ebooks, infographics, SlideShares, web features, videos, customer profiles, email copy/nurture flows, etc. Manage the work of freelance writers and/or outside agencies, perform substantive and line edits, manage review cycles, oversee revisions, and proofread final assets.
  • Help draft overall campaign messaging with Campaign Manager, product marketers, and marketing executives and be able to communicate that messaging to a broader internal audience (and external agencies). Edit campaign content so that it supports or aligns with messaging.
  • Understand and appreciate the needs and challenges of RingCentral s prospects, customers, and partners at different phases of their journey with our brand, and creatively plan and execute content that supports their needs and encourages conversion along that journey. Intimately know the difference between top, middle, and bottom of funnel content.
  • Drive the discovery or interview process that precedes campaign content, pursuing customers and partners whose stories will support the campaign and contacting them under deadline pressure to gain and set up interview calls.
  • Manage production of campaign asset promotion kits that include email, landing page, and web resource page copy, asset cheat sheets, follow-up sales emails, syndication information, graphic social promotion banners, etc. Evolve the promotion kit elements over time in collaboration with the Campaign Manager.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the content team so they understand campaign messaging, asset plans and timelines and their responsibilities for how their work will support or integrate with the campaign.
  • Understand campaign metrics gathering processes and deliverables, analyze results and optimize content accordingly.
  • Support and collaborate with web and digital teams, product marketers, corporate communications and analyst relations teams who also contribute to the campaign plan.
  • Stay up to date on leading-edge cloud communications and collaborations practices, trends, and technology.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of editorial, content agency, and/or brand journalism experience, with increasing amount of responsibility throughout career.
  • Has content strategy chops that include experience with content audits, gap analyses, customer journeys.
  • Experience managing content creation using freelancers and/or agencies for enterprise technology B2B companies.
  • Ability to communicate with, manage and influence up, down, and across various departments and roles.
  • Adept at thinking strategically while also having a keen eye for seeing and managing the details.
  • Excellent editing, writing, and communication skills; stickler for grammar, accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  • Fascination with and understanding of the B2B buying experience and information needs across stages.
  • Ability to plan and create compelling stories across formats and channels, whether video, digital, long-form, infographic, slide ware, blog, etc. Knowledge of unique process needs for each channel.
  • Understanding of product roadmaps and ability to find the story and key message in product features and benefits.
  • A collaborative work-style that thrives in a dynamic, winning environment.
