Audi Software Engineer - Android System

Role Summary   We are searching for an Android OS expert, ready to bring Android to future generations of Audi infotainment systems. You will be developing system-level software on leading-edge embedded hardware, with a focus on performance, stability, andsecurity. You willwork closely with ourinternal engineering teams, and with teams from our technology partners, all sharing the common goal of delivering the most innovative in-car systems to our customers around the world. This is an engineering position in the Advanced Systems Development Team, located in Silicon Valley.   Role Responsibilities Software design and development at and slightly above the system level in Android, in both bare-metal and hypervisor environments. System-wide profiling and analysis. Collaboration with local partner companies, assisting with system-level integration and debugging. Stay up to date on upcoming features and changes in AOSP and the CDD. Work closely with other Audi engineering teams to facilitate bidirectional transfer of knowledge. Actively contribute to tangential areas of development within Audi of America. Development of technical specifications and documentation.   Experience  5-7 years of relevant work experience Education Bachelor's degree in a computer science or engineering-related discipline Master's degree in related field (desired) Required Skills  Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Java. Good knowledge of the inner workings of the Android Operating System, and of the latest developments such as Project Treble. Experience with low-level AOSP development, eg. Window Manager, identity management, and DRM. Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential. Desired Skills Knowledge of media streaming and casting technologies. Experience with multithreading and inter-process communication. OpenGL ES and/or Vulkan programming experience. Thorough knowledge of Android SDK and NDK. Good computer science background. Performance-oriented embedded system development (eg. mobile device or game console programming). Willing to travel as required.   We are proud to be an EEO employer M/F/D/V. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
